Masonry

Our own masons build CMU block walls, retaining walls, trash enclosures and site masonry, usually as part of the concrete and site work on a project. Retaining walls start with a short checklist: the cut, drainage, waterproofing, access, backfill and permits. After that comes a site visit and a written proposal. Walls are built to the structural drawings.

Who it's for

  • General contractors who want site walls in the same package as the concrete
  • Owners replacing a failing retaining or garden wall
  • Commercial properties that need trash enclosures or screen walls

How the work goes

  1. Send photos or plans, and we go through the retaining-wall checklist with you.
  2. We visit the site and price from the structural drawings.
  3. Footings, block and reinforcing go in as drawn and are inspected.
  4. Drainage and backfill are handled as the plans call for.

What drives the cost

  • Wall height and length, and the reinforcing schedule
  • Drainage behind the wall and any waterproofing
  • Access for equipment and materials
  • Removal of the existing wall

What we do differently

Our own masons, with site walls priced in the same package as the concrete and site work.
